Join us as we grow vegetables, herbs, and fruit in our community garden! Participants will learn the fundamentals of urban gardening from our 4-H instructors and our NJ Master Gardener volunteers, take home a portion of the produce during harvest season, and prepare exhibits to compete in the Essex County 4-H Harvest Festival. Kids and teens from kindergarten through 12th grade are invited to participate, and parents are also welcome! Email teens@eopl.org for more info.
East Orange Public Library's community garden is part of New Jersey's Youth Urban Farm Club network and is presented in partnership with the Essex County 4-H Club, the Rutgers Cooperative Extension, and the New Jersey Master Gardeners.
